A mushroom farmer, Mr. Joseph Shelter at Dodowa in the Shai Osudoku constituency, last week disclosed to Rite fm that, he lost over Ghs 5000 due to unfavorable weather condition in December last year for his Mushroom business.

Mr. Shelter in an interview with Rite 90.1 FM explained that, this has never occurred to him since the inception of his mushroom business. He has realized that this unfortunate situation was recorded by other colleagues in the industry and they have all realized that it was due to the dry hamatan weather condition.

The high demand of Mushroom from Mr. Shelter by his cherished customers during the Christmas Festivity encouraged him to expand the production a little more at the expense of this unfortunate unforeseen loss.  According to him, this huge loss has reduced his funds for business operation drastically. He has no option to begin again gradually to attain his formal business financial status. Mr. Shelter disclosed that he is never disturbed at all because he knew the unfortunate occurrence is part of business and it has added up to his three years experience in his Mushroom production business. This he is sure of because he has never been able to meet his market demand.

In addition Mr. Shelter said that, “Mushroom business is a good business for me and that is my livelihood. All I should do is to look out for aid or partnership to expand the business, so I could employ other to reduce the work load on me presently”.
