GNAFF advocates for passage of cattle ranking law

The secretary of Ghana national association of farmers and fishermen (GNAFF) Mr. John Awuku Dziwornu has said, the association is advocating for passage of ‘cattle ranking law’ in Ghana. Cattle ranking law is a legislation when pass will requires anybody who want to go into cattle farming acquire a land to house the animals in order to restrict their movement.

In an interview with Rite FM’s news Mr. Djiwornu said that, they have released that farmers suffer a lot in the hands of these Fulani headsmen and their cattle and that is the reason why the association with the support from BUSAC FUND is advocating for the passage of the law to control the movement of cattle.

He noted that in the United States of America (USA) the law is working perfectly and has ensure correct movement of cattle, adding that they are working hand-in-hand with the parliamentary select committee on food agriculture to have the legislation in Ghana.
