Ghana Will Not Suffer Food Shortage

Osofo Patrick Apola, president of the seed producers association has given the strongest assurance yet that Ghana will never experience food shortage despite the effect of the climate change. According to him, this was because there are varieties of seeds coming up from the Agriculture Research Institute which can withstand the climate change.

He stated that the researchers are doing well within their capacity to make sure they give to the farmers the best of seeds to be planted which will also help boost their profit.

Contrary to popular perception, Osofo Apola believes that Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) is very good and anyone who opposed its introduction was ignorant of this. He said many countries that have adopted the GMO were really moving forward and developing.

According to him, GMOs have no side effect as many would want the world to believe but will rather help the farmers to earn from the little they cultivate. This is why he’s urging the authorities not to make that mistake of rejecting the GMOs because we all may regret doing that.
