GFA tells Avram Grant to return to Ghana

News reaching Rite Sports indicates that, Ghana Football Association has finally taken the bull by the horns and summoned Black Stars’ errant coach, Avram Grant, to return to post immediately ahead of Ghana’s AFCON 2017 qualifier against Mozambique later this month or face the appropriate sanctions.

The GFA, clearly livid about Grant’s incorrigible attitude so far, directed him through a terse correspondence a few days ago to report to duty as soon as possible since his official leave was over.

In a letter by the FA stated unequivocally that the Israeli trainer did not have an official permission to monitor players in Europe from January to March, 2016.

The Black Stars have a two-leg AFCON 2017 qualifier against Mozambique in Accra and on March 25 and 29 respectively, hence the GFA’s decision to call the Israeli trainer to order so he could also monitor the two-week-old Ghana Premier League.

‘’The position of the Emergency Committee is that you have not been given any permission or approval to perform any monitoring work in Europe for the months of January, February and March, 2016,’’ state a letter dated February 26, 2016 and signed by the acting GFA General Secretary, Isaac Addo.

A follow-up letter three days later by FA Deputy General Secretary, Alex Asante, to Coach Grant said, ‘’I have been authorized by the Emergency Committee to remind you that your leave days are over and as such you should report to Ghana as soon as possible.’’

Much against his promise to stay in the country and scout local talents and also organize clinics for local coaches during his unveiling in December 2014 Grant has been staying virtually in the UK under the guise of monitoring Ghanaian players in Europe.
