Three Fulani men have been murdered in cold blood on Saturday at Salamekorpe and Amedzorpe in the Afram Plains North and South Districts respectfully in the Eastern region. At Salamekorpe in the Afram plains north, a 60-year-old man, Mohammedu Ali and his children were preparing for their daily Muslim prayers between 5am and 6am when they were attacked with gun shots by unknown assailants.
In running for their lives, the 60 year old together with one of his sons, Mohammedu Perssy was shot, resulting in their instant deaths. A further six were also injured in the riot. That did not end the carnage. Forty minutes later, another Fulani man was also attacked at Amadzorpe, also in the Afram Plains-South.
Reports have it that his house was set on fire by an irate mob and the victim in his attempt to escape from his house, was shot dead after which his lifeless body was decapitated.
According to the District Police Commander, ASP Obeng Dompreh, the lifeless body was found but not the head which the murderers were suspected to have taken away.
The remains of the three dead men have been deposited at the morgue of the Presbyterian hospital while investigations remain ongoing.
