Frank Nutall slams Hearts players’ attitude

Coach of Accra Hearts Oak, Frank Nutall has expressed his disappointment over the attitude of his players in the shock 2-1 defeat to newly promoted Dreams FC in the finals of G8 tournament on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Hearts of Oak took an early lead through Daniel Kordie but were pegged back few minutes later courtesy of a wonderful solo effort by Razak Cromwell.

The Phobians conceded a penalty in the 60th minute after a cynical challenge by Benjamin Mensah on Eric Gawu in the box. Leonard Owusu made no mistake with the resulting spot kick to score what was to be the winning goal.

Coach Frank Nutall gave his assessment of the match in his post-match press conference.

“My impression is that we started the game fairly well, we were organized. But to be honest after we scored the goal, I was disappointed with the attitude of my players.”

“They know that, I’ve told them that and I have felt their reaction. We lost concentration and focus after we took the lead,” Nutall said.

“At 1-0 in any game the other team always has chance of getting back in the game and that is what happened”

He was also not at all pleased with the defending especially with the first goal but remained adamant the tournament is in no way a reflection of how the season is going to play out.
