Food Scientist Endorses Fish Farming For The Youth

Farming which invariably is categorized into fish farming, crop production as well as livestock farming has long been the back-bone of Ghana’s economy. But that is not all as it has also solidly served as the source of employment for the chunk of the population. This also includes those who find themselves in the value chain of food production such as the farmers, processors and marketers.

In this regard, Mr. Dankwah Hedrick who is a fish scientist has identified fish farming as a very lucrative area for farming and has urged the youth to take advantage of it. Mr. Dankwah who was speaking on the Rite Morning Ride urged the youth to engage in fish farming because it’s very helpful.

Educating on a vital demand to successfully set up a fish farming business, he mentioned the need for a potential fish farmer to first decide on what kind of fish to raise as well as a reliable water source since fishes depend on water all year round. He further added that the farming can be done in a fish pond, a river or in a lake and must be fed properly to maintain their growth.
