The 2014 Second National Best Farmer Mr. Ekow Eshon has congratulated government for the establishment a college to support the fisheries sector.
He said this is a good step taken by government and it will benefit the fishery sector to improve their production with modern technologies, stating that most fishermen lacks certain ideas about fish production but with this collage, they will be equipped with the modern system of fish farming.
He has therefore charged government not to abandoned the project after the sod cutting ceremony because is a habit in this country where certain government projects have been neglected after performing the sod cutting ceremony but urged government to go ahead and the complete the collage to serve it purpose.
It will be recalled that The Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur yesterday laid the foundation stone for Ghana’s First Fisheries Collage in honor of the Late President Atta Mills at Buranamua near Anomabo in the Central Region.
The institution which is will be known as John Evans Atta Mills College of Fisheries is a tribute to the late President for his commitment to its establishment as well as his vision to accelerate the transformation of fisheries sub sector.
