Fishermen Cry Over Premix Shortage…. Appeals To Government

The Chiefs and Fishermen of Nhyiayem Traditional Area at Jomoor Nzema East of the Western Region are appealing to the President to make premix fuel available and accessible to fishermen in the District. The call came during the president’s five working days visit to the area. Accompanying him on the tour were the Minister of Fisheries and other staffers from the Flagstaff house .

According to Awulae Agbesi Kwame, Chief of Nhyiayem Traditional Area, the shortage of fuel currently is worrisome and the situation needs to improve since schools will soon be reopening and Christmas is also drawing closer.

The erstwhile NDC administration led by former president John Dramani Mahama suffered heavy criticism over limited availability and high cost of the premix fuel.

Nana Awulae Agbesi Kwame protested,“ that some of the fisher folks who complained in the NDC administration feel it is worse under the NPP regime, so the `government should do something about it for them,”
