Farmers Want Ten Percent Of National Budget For Agriculture Sector

The President of the National Best Farmers and Fishers Association, Davies Narh Korboe is proposing that ten percent of the National budget be channeled into agriculture.

He says agriculture has the tendency of reducing youth unemployment and such investment will make the field attractive to the youth.

Mr Korboe was speaking to Radio Ghana after the inauguration of a seven member Executives of the Association.

He tasked government to lend more support to the sector.

With regard to some bad agricultural practices such as light fishing by some fishermen, Mr Korboe said one of the priorities of the Association is to educate farmers to adopt good farming practices.
