A maize farmer at Sra, a suburb of Somanya in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region says creating of the most suitable fencing for a farm and livestock is of utmost importance if one wants their farm to work at its optimum level.
According to him, a good fence provides a physical barrier to control the movement of animals in and around one’s farm.
He said that with this type of structure, a farmer can keep livestock within the confines of a field or paddock as well as keep wild animals from entering their farm and damaging crops or bothering livestock.
Speaking in an interview with Prince Paul Amuzu, a journalist with Rite FM on why he has decided to fence his one and a half hectares of his maize farm, the farmer said that using the best materials for the fencing can be costly, particularly when it is built to cover a large area; but it will be a worthwhile investment because of its accompanying several benefit.
He said prospective buyers will consider well-kept sturdy fences to be a valuable benefit, when considering the purchase of a farm product or agricultural land and ensures that your farm is aesthetically pleasing and functional.
