The Eastern Regional Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), Mr. Fred Gyebi Twum has told Rite news that the Eastern region is ready to celebrate the day. According to him, they were almost done with their preparations, stating that this year’s celebration will be held on the campus of the Adonteng Senior High School in Aburi in the Akuapem South District.
Mr. Twum explained that all the necessary arrangement have been made, stating that this year’s award will see much improvement as compared to previous events where some farmers were given toiletries and other items which rather discouraged the farmers in producing more to feed the nation.
He stated that all the deserving farmers were ready to receive their awards in a grand manner, adding that some organizations have donated some items and packages to support the celebrations but they as Oliver Twist were still looking for more donations from organizations and philanthropists.
Friday December 4, 2015 is a day set aside to celebration our gallant farmers and Fishermen for the role they play in feeding the nation. This year’s event shall be held at the Upper West regional capital Bolgatanga.
