Reggae artiste and former reggae presenter at Hi FM in Nkawkaw, in the Kwahu – West Municipality, Justice Boateng popularly known as Heavy Dee, has drawn a thin line between dreadlocks and Rastafarianism.

The outspoken dreadlocked artiste, made this revelation in an interview with rite news. According to him Rasta simply meant a righteous person, who respected moral values and loved the word of the Almighty creator.

“People must never and ever link up dreadlock to Rastafarianism as both have separate meanings” He continued and mentioned former President Jerry John Rawlings and first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah as Rasta men because of their decent record in the history of the country.

He maintained that people with dreadlock who go contrary to rules and have no respect for humanity, cannot be classified as Rastafarians because it’s a religion that seek for peace, equal rights and justice in society.

Heavy Dee also said that, Rastafarians for their respect for rules and love for herbs grow old than anybody on earth and that many obituaries noticed on walls are normally people outside their religion. “We have big respect for all persons, and read the Holy scriptures daily for our spiritual growth” He lamented.

Reacting to claims that, Rastafarians have too much love for cannabis popularly called “wee”, the reggae artiste said that it is never true that Rastafarians smoke “wee”, and that they loved to take weed which is the sole food for every mankind. “We all enjoy weed like kontomire, dawadawa and cabbage amongst others, tell me who on earth do not live on herbs” None! Muslims are strong because of their love for weed, He ended.
