Distress Call Of A Farming Community

By Austin Ofori Addo:

The Dadematse (sub-chief) of Bisa, an Asesewa suburb in the Upper Manya Krobo district of the Eastern region has bemoaned the lack of developmental projects in the town, particularly good transportation services for the several farmers located in their communities. The Dadematse, Nene Francis Tetteh lamented that indeed he and his people were not happy about the situation.

According to him, farmers in the communities were at their wits end as a result of the poor roads, a situation that is taking a great toll them. The Dadematse went to explain how farmers find it difficult to transport their farm produce with drivers taking advantage of their situation to charge them exorbitantly.

Nene Tetteh further lamented over the lack of portable water in the community as well as the lack of teachers’ quarters for teaching staff. These challenges among others have hindered the posting of teachers there as the teachers refuse to take the appointments due to these situations.
