Director Of Agric Acknowledges Relevance Of Agric Sub-Committees

The Director of Agric. at the Lower Manya Municipal Assembly, Mr. Seth Martey has explained on Rite FM’s ‘Feed the Future’ Platform that the agric. subcommittee members are their representatives at the district level and therefore urged them to push for increased allocation of resources and the approval of their plan and budget for the year 2017.

According to him, now that the agric. subcommittee has been passed through an orientation workshop by the Rite FM MAASI project on their roles at the general meetings and now having access to the 2017 plan and budget of the agric. department, they have to lobby for them at the general Assembly meetings.

He said the budget was prepared after the engagement of farmers by the MAASI project to know the challenges they are going through in their farming activities which should be tackled in 2017.

In furtherance, he said the agric. subcommittee has now understood their plan and budget due to the orientation and they expect them to act accordingly as the budget demands.

Reaffirming this, Mr. David K. Dokli, the Director of Agric. at Asuogyaman Municipal Assembly on the same platform encouraged the members of the agric. subcommittee to speak their (DOA) language for them whenever they go for the Assembly meetings in order to approve the budget for them to enable the DOA to improve and increase productivity as well in the district.

An online interview with Hon. Andrews A. Appiah, member of the agric. subcommittee at Lower Manya Municipal Assembly also commended the Rite FM MAASI project team for the orientation given them on their roles to help increase resources at the DOA and therefore assured of lobbying for it at the general meetings.
