Court Injunction Stopped Natriku Election

Indigenes of Natriku in Akuse in the Manya Krobo municipality of the Eastern did not have the privilege to exercise their franchise like the rest of the country because a Koforidua High Court placed another injunction on the election. This was as a result of a suit filed by Klomagbi, a pressure group in the Municipality.

Speaking on Rite fm’s Community Watch program last Saturday, the Communications Director for Klomagbi, Mr. Henken Adjase said Natriku is not for the people of Osudoku but the people of Manya Krobo. He said there were several documents testifying to this claim including the ruling from the Supreme Court which the Electoral Commission was aware of but they still went ahead in the attempt organize the election in the name of Shai Osudoku in total disregard of the ruling of the nation’s highest court.

He explained that since all efforts to stop the EC from conducting the election at Natriku could not yield any result, they had no option than to go the courts for an interlocutory injunction which the court readily granted. He added that the court will sit on the matter this Friday, the 18th of September, 2015.

He therefore entreated the people of Lower Manya Krobo to remain calm whiles they await the ruling from the High Court.
