“I met a cluster of teachers of teachers and we talk about duties of a teachers as an administrator, parents, remodel and others. All the same we went into preparation of lesson note and with, the teachers we change their way of behaving towards students and will also help them to improve on lesson preparation that will lead to a better result in the future.”
“We will be visiting them frequently to keep special eyes on them. The circuit supervisor and the other officers will be coming round to monitor the activities since they are selected for the DEOP II project,” Mr. Alexander Amanya said.
A lesson plan is the teacher’s guide for running a particular lesson, and it includes the goal (what the students are supposed to learn), how the goal will be reached (the method, procedure) and a way of measuring how well the goal was reached (test, worksheet, homework etc.) A daily lesson plan is developed by a teacher to guide class learning. Details will vary depending on the preference of the teacher, subject being covered, and the needs of the students. There may be requirements mandated by the school system regarding the plan.
Rite FM’s Online Manager Boafo Eric Tetteh, known in the media as Omanba Kodwo Boafo, in close to two hours took teachers on how to construct, administer and score test, characterized by validity and reliability, qualities every good test must have.
A test is a task or series of tasks which are used to measure specific trait or attributes in pupils. This include paper-and-pencil instruments with a series of questions which pupils must answer.
The responses given to the questions enable the teacher to obtain an estimate of a specific trait being measured. It also gives an estimate of how well an individual learner performs on a task
Teachers of the Somanya S.D.A. basic schools who were at the focus of the exercise expressed joy over the reinforcement training and have promised to use it to change the status of the school positively.
“I think is a good thing because previously we lack the evaluation skills but now that we have, we the teachers will do well to do what is require of us. Today has exposed me to know a lot of things. At first I thought am on the right path but there are some short falls I have been committing. I think is going to bring improvement. There is going to be a positive change which will reflect in the performance of pupils of S.D.A.,” said the teachers.
The headmaster of the school, Mr. Anthony Djibuku congratulated Rite FM for adding his school to the DEOP II project schools and for the reason his school will work hard to achieve 100 percent BECE result to commemorate Rite FM.
According to him, the workshop has come to continue with the actual thing teachers must do.
“The inclusion of my school is going to bring a lot of changes as far as making progress is concern. The teachers have been writing lesson notes, but what Rite FM has brought into session is not a new way but the continuity of the actual thing to be done.
