Muller sparked controversy last week when revealing he didn’t know if he suited Coach Carlo Ancelotti‘s system.
Hoeness told BILD: “I have to say honestly: We live in a democracy, where everyone can air troubles. I found the words that he had chosen, within the rules. There was not even the approach for a punishment. We have to get back to it.
“We have grown men who are allowed to say something. And I do not like the fact that you put every word on the gold scale. Also internally. And that is why we have to be a bit more relaxed.”
But he added: “I see Thomas Müller as very much happy playing with us. But he can only play if he plays well.”
Just yesterday, Muller revealed he came close to moving to Manchester United two years ago.
