She said, additives are flavour ingredients add to food substance during preparation or cooking.

According to the nutritionist, the additives can be access in two forms, natural and artificial types, which are normally used in cooking food.

“We have natural and the artificial. The natural ones such as ginger, garlic, acid from lemon or lime are very good for our health,” she said.

She added that, the artificial type (man-made) is not good for our health and their too much use can cause heart related diseases and high cholesterol level.

“Man-made additives can cause heart related diseases such as heart attack, kidney problems among others,” she said

The nutritionist has therefore advice the public to use the natural additives in cooking than the artificial type full of bacteria organisms that can cause harm to health.
