Atuniga Mocks Mahama Challenger

A member of the communication team of the ruling Nation Democratic Congress, Mr. Stephen Atubiga has mocked the only challenger to president Mahama’s bid to his party’s presidential candidates.

Mr. Atubiga was reacting to the decision of Mr. George Boateng , Branch youth organizer of the Oyarifa Presby school branch of the NDC to contest the president in the party’s upcoming presidential primaries stated for November 7, 2015 on the Rite morning Ride.

Atubiga in his reaction disagreed with his party man most of his criticisms on the president from Mr. George. On the issue of high rent minister Atubiga played it down with the view that one’s rent depends on where one rents. He stated that certain areas are more expensive to live in than others.

He also shot down Mr. George claims that president Mahama has weakened the National Health Insurance Scheme. He said that his government has rather strengthened the scheme. Atubiga who almost agrees with his party chairman that George Boateng is insane, say it’s his own opinion to assert that the Mahama administration has increased taxes astronomically.

On Boateng’s resolve that he would legalize weed if he came to power, Atubiga was evasive on whether he agree with that. He instead cited a number of countries who depends on the export of various raw products for export s well as those who depend on weed.

He said a number of citizens including prominent one are already hooked on to smoking of weed and therefore its legalization is a matter of opinion. He added further that a number of countries had already legalize the substance but its too early for his party man to use that as a campaign message.

He added that Mr. Boateng ‘s success or not in his bid depends on the vetting committee of his party, he said his party is an all inclusive government and any party member is welcome to contest the president. Stephen Atubiga urged George Boateng to desist from comment that would hurt the fortune of the party and rather concentrate on selling himself through his ideas.
