Assembly Yet To Approve Our Budget

Director of Agriculture at the Yilo Krobo Municipality, Mr. Kojo Awuah has lamented on the fact that with just a little over a week to the celebrations of this year’s Farmers Day, the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly was yet to approve their budget for the celebrations of the event, raising doubts about the celbrations of the event in Somanya.

The director revealed this on the Rite Morning ride during the ‘Feed the Future Platform’ with Kenneth Oliver. He said not much in terms of awards for winning farmers come from the government level expects the certificate that they present to the farmers, adding that the rest of the prizes come from donations presented by individuals and corporate institutions. This according to him brings a lot of pressure to the assembly.

Mr. Awuah said they were yet to finalize the selection process for the winners but was hopeful that all will be set for next week Friday.

The Yilo Krobo Municipality is a major hub for Agricultural development in Ghana; a situation that has heightened the excitement and preparations for the 4th December, 2015 Farmers Day.
