One of the suspects seen in the Captain Mahama murder footage has been arrested by the Gomoa Dominase Police in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The suspect, Charle Buah, according to the Commander, ASP David Osei Fofie  was hiding in his girlfriend’s room when he was picked up.

The lady is said to have alerted a friend about the presence of the suspect in her room leading to his arrest.

“At 1 am this dawn, we had information that one person is in Dominase and suspected to be part of the killing and so we deployed our men there and realized he was hiding at his girlfriend’s place.

“The suspect was hiding at his girlfriend’s home but luck eluded him when his girlfriend reported him and was subsequently arrested by the police” he said.

Captain Maxwell Mahama of the 5th Infantry Battalion was heading a military detachment to the area to fight illegal mining, popularly known as galamsey.

So far, fourteen people are being held over the incident while seven of them have been charged and remanded into Police custody.
