Akufo-Addo is NPP’s weakest leader ever – Ofosu-Kwakye

Deputy Communications Minister, Felix Ofosu-Kwakye, has described the New Patriotic Party presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as the weakest leader the party has ever had in its history.

According to Mr. Ofosu-Kwakye, the recent crisis that has plagued the country’s biggest opposition party has been the result of Nana Akufo-Addo’s “disastrous leadership”.

“These latest manifestations are a direct result of Nana Addo’s disastrous leadership. He clearly has been the weakest leader,” he asserted on TV3’s New Day newspaper review segment hosted by Nana Aba Anamoah.

Since 1991, the NPP has had three leaders- the late Professor Adu Boahene, President J.A. Kufuor and Nana Addo.

“At no time in that history has the NPP been in as worst shape as they are now. This is the worst shape ever that the NPP has seen, at least in their current manifestation since 1991,” he said.

Mr. Ofosu-Kwakye said since Nana Akufo-Addo was elected leader and the current National Executive put in place, the party has been in unending crisis

“Hardly a week passes by without you hearing of some confrontation within the party. The leader and party executives have failed to even provide the minimum leadership in the party,” he said.

He said in view of the happenings in the NPP, the National Democratic Congress remains upbeat in winning the 2016 election, especially considering that President John Mahama has delivered in many areas notwithstanding the difficulty in the country.

“Today, when Ghanaians scan the political divide, you know what they see? They see the NDC led by President Mahama backed by formidable party machinery that in spite of the difficulty that we have, is delivering on many critical areas” he said.
