Mango farmers at Osudoku Lanor, in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region, are attributing some of the challenges they encounter as mango farmers to the lack of education on best farming practices.
Speaking in an interview with Rite FM on the Akuafo Sesen segment of the Rite Morning Ride on Thursday with Simon Agyemang, Mr. Martey David Olaga, a mango farmer said at Osudoku Lanor lamented that, they (farmers) have realized that due to lack of education on best farming practices, they have not been able to handle their mango seedlings very well leading to their destruction.
According to him, the persistent perishing of the mango seedlings while preparing for planting has been on the increase and their handicapped in what steps to take to curtail the problem.
The mango farmer has therefore pleaded with the extension services to as a matter of urgency come to their aid or attend to them when they call on them on how best to handle their seedlings.
