Alleged seventy-two macho men were today arrested at Akwamu-Senchi during a one week installment of new Senchi chief and Akwamu Nifahene, Nana Offei Kwasi Agyemang XVI after ten years of litigation.
The macho men who were alleged were brought by the queen mother, Nana Efa Poakoah to distract the ceremony because she is against the choice of the people to install the new chief.
The Adontenhene, Nana Gyan Oduro Dapaah ll spoke the media after the incident and congratulated the police service for maintain law and order in the community.
Nana Oduro Dapaah ll expressed gratitude to the kingmakers for choosing someone who has been accepted by the whole community and appealed to all citizens to remain united now that a new chief has been installed.
“Everyone knows what the chief can do because he has already constructed an aquaculture project to train and employ the people within the community and its surroundings.” the Adontenhene added.
He however called on all citizens of Senchi to come together and support the good policies of the new chief.
A section of the crowd were indeed happy to have a chief after years of litigation. Reports indicates the “macho men” have been sent to the regional police office in Koforidua for interrogations.
Some items retrieved from them includes, knifes, cutlasses,scissors,”suspected wee bitters”, alcoholic wine, handcuff and others.
