2017 Awards Are the Best – Akwapim North Best Farmer

2017 best district farmer for Akuapim North in the Eastern Region, Mr. Attah Agyapong has registered his satisfaction with the general observation and awards given awardees during the just celebrated 2017 National Farmers’ Day.

Expressing his opinion on the awards in an interview with Captain Adabuga during the Akuafo Sesen segment of the morning show, Mr. Agyapong extolled the 33rd Farmers’ Day celebrations as the best thus far in the history of the event.

“This year’s Farmer’s Day happened to be the best among the previous events,” he said.

According to him, past awards given to winners could not be compared to what farmers received in 2017 which he described as satisfactory.

“In the past, none of the awardees ever received a motor bike or tricycle in the Akwapem North district. This year however, mouth-watering prizes including a motor bike and tricycle for the winner were presented,” he added.

The tricycle for the woman was reportedly one of two tricycles donated by the Member of Parliament for the area, honourable Nana Ama Asiamah Dokuah Agyei as her contribution towards the event.

Mr. Agyapong who described the awards as ‘historical’ expressed his profound appreciation to the almighty God and the organizers of the event for “recognizing his hard work and contributions towards feeding mother Ghana.”

Mr. Attah Agyapong took the second runner up position in the 2000 awards ceremony and went on to pick the first runner up position in the year 2010 during the Farmers’ Day awards in Akwapem North before eventually being crowned the district’s best farmer for 2017.

The Akuapim-North district on Friday joined other districts across the country to recognize and reward the hard work of farmers across the country.

Twenty farmers who were awarded on the day received assorted prizes on the day.
