1st National Agric Summit Launched By FAGRO

Agriculture in research wise has been identified as the backbone of Ghana’s economy and the most important sector in the sustainability and development of the economy.

In respect of this, the National food and Agric show (FAGRO) as an institution has been working closely with the ministry of food and agriculture to promote and project the Agric sector especially on the international scene. The general manager for FAGRO has said.

Speaking at the lunch of the company’s first national Agric summit, the general manager of FAGRO, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa stated their quest to enlighten farmers and other stake holders of the Agric sector has caused them to arrange this summit slated on Wednesday July 8th, 2015 at the La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel to gather key players and experts in the field of agriculture under one umbrella to deliberate on how the industry can improve to meet the current agricultural trends.

The summit is dubbed “further unlocking the Ghanaian agricultural sector. The role of youth and women”, she noted.

She added this summit will provide a unique platform for policy makers, farmer groups, researchers’, government agencies and corporate entities and funders to network to exchange knowledge and gain insight into the context of youth and women innovation in agriculture.

Closing the lunch yesterday at the press center-Accra, Ms. Akoso called on the cooperation of the sector ministry and farmers to turn up for the summit to make it a success.

In attendance was the chairman for national farmers and fishermen award winners association, Mr., Davis Narh Korboe, sector Minister Hon. Fiifi Kwetey, Rep. from Youth in Agric, Al-Haji Maham and some other companies.
