USAID-FINGAP assists farmers with $85m

USAID-FINGAP an Agribusiness Financial facilitation project which is supporting Ghana in the agriculture value chain in rice, maize, and soya for a five year period says it has so far assisted farmers with more than $ 85 million through financial institutions.

Speaking to Radio Ghana’s George Ankrah ahead of an annual summit in Accra tomorrow, the Acting Chief of Party of USAID -FINGAP, Dr Victor Anwti said the summit will showcase viable agribusiness investment opportunities in the maize, rice and soya value chain and link small, medium and large Enterprises in need of financing to financial institutions for investment to increase production, improve food security and stimulate economic growth in Ghana.

On those who are eligible, Dr Antwi mentioned farmers and processors in Northern Ghana. He said rice, maize and soya farmers are eligible to access the facility.
